It all began on August 18th, 2018. Michael and Shannon decided to meet up in Detroit for drinks with friends. Amid laughter and conversations, Shannon took a photo of the scenery to share on Snapchat. That’s when she noticed a wedding geotag nearby for a couple named Shannon and Michael. It felt like a little nudge from the universe.

The next day, Shannon came across a news segment highlighting how 8/18/18 was considered a lucky day. It reads the same forwards and backwards, symbolizing infinity. As Michael and Shannon spent more time together, they couldn’t ignore the feeling that they were meant to be.
